SHIRLEY SINGERS COMMUNITY CHOIR
We are a lively, friendly & welcoming choir, creating music within a relaxed atmosphere.
Come along and join us, no audition is required, just an idea of the value of notes with some idea of music.
We are an eclectic group of Sopranos, Altos, Tenors & Basses.
A well established & much-loved community choir
We meet every Monday evening and enjoy lively and fun rehearsals whilst at the same time improving our vocal and ensemble skills.
We present two main concerts a year:- Summer & Christmas and perform a real mix of styles, ranging from old to contemporary.
We are a mixture of Sopranos, Altos, Tenors and Basses and are keen to enrol some new Tenors and Basses!
Shirley Singers (formerly Spring Park Choral Society) was founded in February 1946. Mrs Bertha Hudspith was the MD and their first concert was performed in December 1946.

Gill always warms the choir up with various techniques, ready to rehearse a varied array of songs, some of which she adapts herself.

Stephen leads a full committee who serves our choir admirably, keeping us informed on all fronts!
Where Every Voice Finds Its Place
Joining the Shirley Singers is more than just learning to sing; it's about discovering a lifelong community of shared passion and mutual support. Friendship is key!
We also like to meet socially and have planned events throughout the year.
A Sense of Belonging
We provide a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and heard, regardless of their musical background. You don't have to be able to read music, just know the value of notes!
Personal Growth
Our rehearsals focus on vocal technique and musical expression, helping you develop in confidence and enjoyment of your musical ability.
Community Engagement
We perform at local care homes and look to do more performances that extend far beyond the choir room.
